Winchester Country Club Hosts Benefit for Western States Trail

On Oct. 29, the Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista hosted a Golf Tournament to benefit restoration for the Western States Trail. Nineteen miles of the trail, from Little Bald Mountain to Deadwood, were heavily impacted during the American Fire this summer. Both Pucker Point and the Swinging Bridge will be a particular focus for the repairs in advance of the 2014 endurance events season. With just three weeks to coordinate, the Golf Tournament grossed approximately $10,000. More events like this will be scheduled to help fund the restoration. Direct donations also can be made online at www.wser.org specifically toward these repairs. The Georgetown Divide was well represented at this event, including Dawn Elliott from Vitek Mortgage (delliott@teamvitek.com), my co-sponsor for the first hole.
